OPEN ACCESS POLICY

The Journal of AI-Driven Intelligent Systems (JADINS) is an open-access journal committed to the broad and unrestricted dissemination of scholarly knowledge. All articles published in JADINS are made freely and permanently available online to readers immediately upon publication, without subscription or access barriers.

JADINS believes that open access promotes greater visibility, accessibility, reproducibility, collaboration, and global dissemination of research in artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, machine learning, explainable AI, intelligent decision support, smart computing, and related interdisciplinary applications.

1. Immediate Open Access

All articles published in JADINS are available to the public immediately upon publication.

JADINS does not impose an embargo period on access to published articles.

Readers may access published content without:

  • subscription;
  • institutional login;
  • registration;
  • payment for reading; or
  • other access restrictions.

Full-text articles are made publicly accessible through the official JADINS website.

2. Open Access License

Articles published in JADINS are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license, consistent with the licensing statement used in the official JADINS manuscript template.

Under this license, users may:

  • read;
  • download;
  • copy;
  • distribute;
  • print;
  • search;
  • link to the full text;
  • share;
  • adapt;
  • transform; and
  • build upon

the published material, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source.

If adapted or derivative material is distributed, it must be made available under the same or a compatible ShareAlike license, in accordance with the applicable CC BY-SA terms.

3. Attribution Requirement

Any reuse of JADINS content must provide appropriate attribution.

Attribution should include, where applicable:

  • author name(s);
  • article title;
  • Journal of AI-Driven Intelligent Systems (JADINS);
  • year of publication;
  • volume and issue;
  • DOI or permanent article URL;
  • applicable Creative Commons license.

Users must not imply endorsement by the authors, editors, JADINS, or Universitas Lamappapoleonro unless explicit permission has been granted.

4. ShareAlike Requirement

Adaptations, modifications, translations, or derivative works based on material published in JADINS must be distributed under the same or a compatible ShareAlike license where required by the applicable Creative Commons terms.

This requirement supports continued openness and ensures that derivative scholarly materials remain accessible to the wider community.

5. Free Access for Readers

JADINS provides free access to its published scholarly content.

Readers may access and use articles for legitimate purposes including:

  • research;
  • education;
  • teaching;
  • scholarly communication;
  • systematic reviews;
  • literature reviews;
  • data and text analysis;
  • non-commercial or commercial reuse permitted under the applicable license.

Use of published content must respect attribution, licensing terms, research integrity, and applicable law.

6. Author Rights

Authors retain appropriate rights to their scholarly work in accordance with the journal's copyright and licensing policy.

By publishing in JADINS, authors grant the journal the right to publish, distribute, archive, and make the article publicly accessible as part of the scholarly record.

Authors remain responsible for ensuring that their manuscript does not infringe third-party copyright or intellectual-property rights.

7. Self-Archiving

JADINS supports responsible self-archiving and scholarly dissemination.

Authors may archive or share permitted versions of their work through:

  • institutional repositories;
  • subject repositories;
  • personal academic websites;
  • institutional profile pages;
  • scholarly networks;
  • research repositories,

provided that the published source is properly acknowledged and the applicable copyright and Creative Commons license are respected.

Authors are encouraged to include the article DOI or permanent JADINS URL when sharing the published version.

8. Repository and Long-Term Accessibility

JADINS supports the long-term accessibility and preservation of scholarly content.

Published articles should remain accessible through the journal's official platform and, where applicable, through indexing services, repositories, preservation systems, and scholarly databases used by the journal.

The journal seeks to maintain stable bibliographic metadata and persistent identifiers to support continued discovery and citation of published research.

9. Text and Data Mining

JADINS supports legitimate text and data mining (TDM) of published open-access content, subject to:

  • proper attribution;
  • applicable Creative Commons licensing conditions;
  • technical limitations necessary to protect journal infrastructure;
  • applicable laws and ethical standards.

Researchers may use published JADINS content for computational analysis, machine learning, bibliometric studies, systematic reviews, and related scholarly purposes under the applicable license.

10. Third-Party Material

The open-access license applied to an article does not automatically apply to third-party material that is separately identified as being subject to different copyright terms.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted third-party material, including:

  • figures;
  • tables;
  • photographs;
  • maps;
  • questionnaires;
  • software screenshots;
  • substantial copyrighted excerpts.

Any material subject to separate copyright restrictions should be clearly identified.

11. Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for:

  • ensuring the originality of submitted work;
  • obtaining necessary copyright permissions;
  • accurately identifying third-party material;
  • complying with ethical and legal requirements;
  • ensuring that data, images, software, and other research materials are used lawfully.

Open-access publication does not remove the author's responsibility to respect copyright, privacy, confidentiality, informed consent, and intellectual-property rights.

12. No Restriction on Scholarly Use

JADINS does not seek to impose unnecessary restrictions on legitimate scholarly reuse.

The journal supports the principle that research should be:

accessible, discoverable, reusable, transparent, and capable of contributing to further scientific advancement.

This principle is particularly important for research in artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, where reproducibility, data accessibility, interdisciplinary collaboration, and rapid scientific development are essential.

13. Open Research Commitment

JADINS encourages authors, whenever legally and ethically possible, to support open research practices by making available:

  • research datasets;
  • source code;
  • experimental scripts;
  • model configurations;
  • supplementary materials;
  • methodological documentation.

The official JADINS template requires a Data Availability Statement for manuscripts, reinforcing the journal's commitment to transparency and reproducibility.

Where materials cannot be openly shared because of privacy, confidentiality, legal, commercial, or ethical restrictions, authors should clearly state the reason.

14. Open Access and Publication Ethics

Open access does not reduce the scientific or ethical standards applied by JADINS.

All manuscripts remain subject to:

  • editorial screening;
  • peer review;
  • publication ethics;
  • research integrity requirements;
  • conflict-of-interest disclosure;
  • authorship requirements;
  • data availability requirements;
  • ethical approval where applicable.

The open-access model does not influence editorial decisions regarding acceptance or rejection.
